- Ask if they recognize any patterns in their thinking related to their stress.
3. Cognitive Restructuring (10 minutes)
- Challenging Negative Thoughts:
- Guide the patient in identifying a specific stressful thought.
- Use the following prompts to help challenge that thought:
- "What evidence do you have for and against this thought?"

- Brainstorm Alternative Thoughts:
- Encourage the patient to formulate more balanced and realistic thoughts that counteract their initial stress-related thoughts.
4. Coping Strategies Discussion (5 minutes)

- Share a few general stress-reduction techniques (e.g., physical activity, journaling, time management).
- Ask the patient which techniques they might find appealing and how they might incorporate them into their routine.
- Setting an Intentional Focus:

5. Closing (5 minutes)

- Emphasize the importance of patience with oneself as they learn to navigate stress.
- Encourage the patient to explore and recognize their strengths in dealing with stress, aiming to build resilience.
